Neinas, Iris (Marriage - 6 Apr. 1945)
The Immanuel Evangelical church of Chili was the scene on Friday afternoon, April 6, of the marriage of Miss Iris Neinas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Neinas, Chili, and Vernon Lindow, son of Mr. and Mrs. Luther Lindow, also of Chili. The Rev. S. A. Gutknecht performed the double ring ceremony before the altar which was banked with snapdragons.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a white satin marquisette and lace floor length gown, with fingertip veil, and carried a corsage of pink and white carnations. Joyce Drescher, a cousin of the bride and groom, and Wayne Wesenberg, nephew of the bride, carried the rings on calla lilies.
The groom’s cousin, Miss Elvira Lindow, and a friend, Miss Mae Curtin, attended the bride. The groom was attended by his cousin, Billy Schlinsog of Greenwood, and Rex Neinas, brother of the bride.
A wedding dinner was served at the home of the bride’s parents, and for the occasion the dining room was decorated with white, pink and blue streamers. The table was decorated with flowers, and centered with the wedding cake. Later in the evening, a coin shower was held for the young couple in the church parlors.
Both the bride and groom are graduates of the Marshfield high school. They left for a week’s trip to Chicago, and on their return will reside on the farm of the groom’s parents near Chili, where he has been assisting with the farming for some time.
April 6 was also the silver wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Neinas, parents of the bride.
